Mr. Waller obtained his Bachelor's Degree in History and Political Science from Vanderbilt University, where he was a highly decorated member of the university's policy debate team. His achievements led to his induction into the inaugural Hall of Fame class, and he continues to serve in an advisory capacity for the team. During his time at Vanderbilt, Mr. Waller also gained practical experience representing clients at the Charles County Public Defender's Office.

Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Waller pursued his legal education at the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the Law Review and provided coaching for the university's debate team. He further enhanced his legal skills by serving with the Cook County Public Defender's appellate office before transitioning to private practice, initially in Florida and ultimately returning to Illinois. As a civil attorney, Mr. Waller focused primarily on insurance defense work, handling cases related to premises liability, construction negligence, Directors and Officers policies, and other general liability matters. His extensive experience led him to join the Public Defender's Office in Will County, where he swiftly established himself as a fierce advocate for indigent clients.
